help: No CEL, starts won't run, strange idle before it stopped

help: No CEL, starts won't run, strange idle before it stopped
I am having problems with my 1990 rt4wd wagon with turbo, I searched
(run CEL codes code turbo boost idle MAP map distributor)
I cannot find the topic that covers my problem.
I was seing an erratic idle before my car stopped running. When it died I was still rolling so I put it in neutral & started it again. It started once more and ran for bout 30 seconds then it seemed as if it didn't wanna stay runnin & the idle was erratic again(the tach needle was fluctuating wildly) then, totally stopped altogether. I brought it back to my garage where I've been lookin to find the problem but everything looks fine, can't understand it...
No CELS , I checked the rotor in the dist. cap its OK, fuel pump fires up. My timing belt is fine too.
So now it starts, it cranks over but it will not run.
Any ideas
