Default help me figure out how to make my downpipe! ***problem solved....pics****

i just got my gt3076r in today and it seems like im gonna have a problem making a downpipe. the discharge flange is a 4 bolt 2.5" and i want to run a 3" downpipe and exhaust, so i think im gonna have to start the downpipe with 2.5" tubing then expand to 3" right before the oilpan. my other problem is that the radiator is in the way. i only have about 3.5" to make a 90 turndown out of piecuts or something, or i could use a 45 to run the downpipe behind the radiator and then 90 down. i posted some pics to explain the placement. can you guys post some pics of how you ran your downpipes with a similar setup or give some suggestions on what i should do? thanks

Of course the first question is can you turn it around. In my case I could be an air filter would not fit, and I wanted to use one so I ran it like you have it. I just had to move **** around.

is there any way to cut the rad tabs off and scoot them over a bit? you might get an extra 1/2 inch.

im thinkin that im just gonna have to make a bunch of pie cuts to run the first 90 down

here is mine
there is probably less tahn an 1/8" clearance between it and fluidyne radiator....but 1/8" is better than nothing

what do you mean you cant turn it around? thats a blox turbo manifold its designed to be used with the compressor on the passenger side, and AC compatible, I had that on my last setup. let me digout a pic for you, I still have the downpipe and manifold for sale but its a 5 bolt downpipe.

what turbo is it? how big is it?
I had to shave all the webbing away to fit the sc61, but it fit perfectly.

either make a custom mount for your radiator or buy a 3" vband clamp kit and weld that straight onto the exhaust housing, then make som pie cuts and make it how ti needs to be, using a flange is going to be hard with that kind of bend becuase you will never get all the bolts in plus vband is really nice and easy to remove and put on and it looks nice,

well i think ive got it figured out.

i used about 3 pie cuts then ill run the 90. it was actually a lot easier than i thought. the only bad part was making the pie cuts fit because all ive got to cut with is an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel. ill post some pics after i get it tacked up, its just duct taped together right now

you need to move the fan to in front of the radiator so your down pipe will not melt it

Pie cuts are the ****. You might want to cut your angles with at least a chop saw though.

thats basically what i did, i used 3 pie cuts to cut it back towards the block on a 45ish degree angle then used a mandrel 90 to turn it down towards the oil pan. ill have some pics up later today of the progress
