Help me build a turbo kit........part 1
Researched but I still need help.......First things first, I've got an b18b in a 99 ex coupe. I really like the revhard stage II kit, but I'd like to make a setup just as good but lower in cost. Please give me some of advice as to what works and what dosen't is a custom setup, where to get the piping, oil feeds, intercooler, turbo, etc. Like I said, I like the revhard kit, so something along those same lines. btw I need to keep my ps and ac, I live in Arizona so ac is a must. I think this thread will help alot of peeps.....
My goals are around 275 on a stock block and maybe 400 someday with some rods/pistons.

very first thing you have to do is write a list of parts you want/need. keep affortablility in mind of course. then its as simple as searching ebay or H-T for people who are selling the parts you need.
people think of custom set ups as being difficult. its really easy actually. rev hard is a custom set up just put together and sold as a kit.
youl NEED a turbo, downpipe, manifold, bov, gaskets, fuel manegment, boost guage, WG(unless the turbo has an internal one), oil lines, couplings and clamps, oil pan needs to be tapped, intake/filter,
thats what you NEED. things ya dont need but should have..
egt/af guages(if ya get a/f make sure you get a wideband o2), vafc, fmic, IC piping, gutted cat, bigger exhaust piping, MBC
im sure i forgot something but that gives ya an idea of what ya need

Re: Help me build a turbo kit........part 1 (mitsuman)
right, I guess i'm looking for a turbo similar to the one in the revhard kit, intercooler, oil lines and misc stuff, and necessary pipeing. The pipeing and whatnot is tricky for me because I want to keep ac, just not sure where to get it.

Get a hold of "SRT4" on here. He's helping me build my kit right now. I ordered a manifold, WG, BOV, boost controller, downpipe and dump tube off him the other day. Next will be the turbo and FMIC. I'm probably going to pick up the gauges and little stuff like that off ebay. Engine management is still up in the air. Thinking of going hondata though.

Re: (DaX)
In regards to DaX's avatar...lf you have seen the movie Kill Bill Vol. 1 in the anime scene where the lady sniper in the red jumpsuit(O-Ren) shoots the guy with the two girls in the limo, YOU LOOK LIKE THAT GUY!!! .
Anyway as far a turbo kit, I suggest going the custom route. That way you can choose exactly what you want as far each component goes rather than getting what the kit gives you. Importparts.com has a turbo kit configuration page which might be of use.

Re: (Saki0)
can someone post your custom setup. I mainly have question about piping for the intercooler and downpipe, etc. Please post your custom setups for your b18 hybrid. Also, what misc parts do I need....

Re: (silverb18)
Just go with something like this:
inline pro manifold
precision turbo (sc50)
Custom downpipe (i know b18flip makes em)
RC injectors (probally 550cc saturated)
Hondata s200
Walboro fuel pump (intank)
JC whitney charge piping
Spearco/precision intercooler
Tial wastegate/bov
Flamenco-t oil feed/return
I think that's about it. People are always selling these things, and that will give you an awsome kit with the capabilities of making really good numbers.

Re: (m R g S r)
That sounds pretty good, is the sc50 comparable to a t3/t4 57 trim turbo, would that be too much for my ls. Also, what is charge piping? Anymore input of your custom setups is appreciated.

Re: (silverb18)
I know youre trying to get an idea, but with a question like "what is charge piping" you really have to do some homework to get a better idea of what youre getting into.
