Help me build my turbo project/ Rate it/ give advice? D16 turbo
Well I'm slowly building this up and have plans for it, but since I do not have nearly as much overall knowledge as many others on here, I'd love to hear some opinions and views on my setup, what should I change in my plans, what will my goals be?
So far what I got
14b turbo, no shaft play
Hf mani
Greddy type 24 pretty small Front mount
and other miscelanious parts needed to complete the kit
What im buying within a month
ZC motor
Some clutch - i have no idea about clutches
Debating on a lighter flywheel
Eagle Rods
CP pistons (stock comp)
Possibly Dual Valve springs and titanium retainers - I'd like to rev that high (good for over 9K) but my effiency will be poop, and the turbo cant keep power at that rpm
The car will be tuned at a local dyno shop, probably the best investement.
Im looking for 220whp, at 10psi
I'll need to tune it more on the reliable side, because this is a DD (my crx)
Am i missing any parts that i'd need? Are there any holes in my plan?
Thanks

why not a bigger turbo like a super t3 or something.. why have a built motor on such a tinny turbo. you are going to have to nock the block for Eagle Rods, 2 of my friends with those in d16y7 and d16y8 had to, not sure about the zc but it might be the same

Re: Help me build my turbo project/ Rate it/ give advice? D16 turbo (Quad-Damage)
i can always upgrade, i got a semi decent deal, and a month ago, when i was planing all this i was planing on turboing the stock SOHC D16 at 8psi so i didnt need anything bigger
if i decide to upgrade all i'd need is a t3/t4, new adapter plate, change piping a little bit, and retune
what does the 14b max out at?

I was running 12lbs on a stock dock zc and I got board of it fast. It was decent though. I only kept my setup for three months then out with the old and in with the new.

My setup is like opposite of yours I am focusing more on the turbo parts than building my motor. .60 trim T3, custom log setup etc. My goal is 200-210 whp on a stock y7/y8 mini me. You really should get a bigger turbo if you are going all out on the internals. If you only want 220whp, you don't need any headwork.
