Default HELP - GT4088R turbine wheel failure in first race!!

I bought a GT4088R about 2 months ago and brought to Brasil, where I live and drag race. In the first time that I race the car, something came out from the exhaust header and hit the turbine wheel which cause a damage to it. Is there anyway that I can get this turbo fixed? Replace the complete Turbine Wheel and shaft? I have a way to send back to US to get this fixed, but it is possible to fixed?

the best would be to buy a new wheels and get your turbo inspected by Garett.

Yes its just a new wheel and a balance/rebuild, probably cost alot of money though being BB, I did it to my T3/T4 a while back and had it rebuilt, it was chunks of my JE pistons breaking off and getting spit out the exhaust.

You have to buy a complete CHRA for the garrett ball bearing stuff, can't get the turbine wheel seperately.

You can rebuild it. You have to by a complete center section with compressor and turbine wheel. Is your turbine housing scared from the damage?

Justin

No, the turbo is perfect, both sides, the compressor wheel and housing is fine, and the exhaust housing is perfect also. The only damage was to the turbine wheel. The turbo was working, but I notice that was not spooling as fast as should be, because was spooling slower than the turbo that I have before, which was a journal bearing turbo. So, when I took a part, we could see the damage.

That sucks. You basically need to buy an entire new turbo minus the housings.

I couldnt figure out what bent my wheel, looked just like yours..... then the head was pulled and my pistons were several grams lighter.

Thanks for all the answers. I got an e-mail from ATP Turbo. They sell the BB CHRA for 1095,00, and that is the only way to get fixed, as Tony said.
