Help building a turbo 93 SI
Hey guys, just got my first honda a couple of weeks ago. A 1993 Civic SI with stock d16z6. I got it from a sweet 70 year old lady in Seattle, WA that used it to commute on the freeway to work. It's got just under 120k on it. Only thing I've done so far is a cai. I was going to do the i/h/e, but after some research, I've decided to skip the h/e for now, and try to get everything figured out first. I'm posting here because there seems to be a lot of SOHC turbo guys on here...
Anyway, I'm 19, and just got another part time job basically just so I can build this hatch up.
I'm not trying to build a 450+ drag racer. More like a reliable 250-300hp daily driver/weekend warior. Which seems to be a very reasonable goal. Probably won't even touch the track more than a couple times.
I don't have a lot of mechanical experience, but plan on doing a lot more research and doing everything by myself w/ anyone else that's willing to help.
Anyway, down to business... Obviously, I'm going to do this in stages... So what I want to know is, what should I save up for/start buying right now? What all do I need to do to prepare my z6 for a turbo, and in what order?
Last question, a lot of people seem to use the y8 bottom with the z6 head. I've been thinking maybe that would be a better choice...?

Re: (ImportGeeK)
Get your hands dirty first. Do the brakes and suspension. Leave the power for last. Then figure out if you want a straight street car, or if your looking for a street/strip, or auto cross.... so on. Its much better to get your goals first, rather then just going to town on it.
Either way, your likely gonna wanna throw in some rods and pistons, so your z6 will be fine the way it is.

Re: (coneheadsracing)
I've done brakes/suspension a few times before. I know I want a street car running 250-300 hp. I guess I was looking for someone that's already built and turboed a z6 to pop in and send me a link or list of how they did it and what parts they used in what order.
