Headgasket or need of ARP headbolts
my car has been overhaeting lately. I have read about heads lifting due to boost. I started the process of changing the head gasket and had a revelation. What would be some signs that my head was lifting due to boost?? I have a leak from the left side of the head. Nothing too major. I dont have ANY smoking during idle or driving. My oil was nice and clean when I drained it. AND the coolant was a bright green. Would the head lifting cause the engine to overheat. I also had a small leak from teh overflow bottle.....it was past the max level. I am using the stock gasket, stock headbolts. Boosting 7 psi on a D series.

Try replacing the headbolts first and if it doesn't solve the problem then replace your headgasket. It's easy to swap in the ARP studs in a D series. Just make sure you torque them in the right sequence. Good luck.

Re: Headgasket or need of ARP headbolts (e'sd16)
Yeah I was thinking about doing that....I was going to use them anyway. The only reason I posted up is so I could maybe refrain from pulling the head off. Now that I almost have it off and dont plan on putting the turbo back on, I am just going to chyange the gasket. But if anyone has anymore info feel free to chime. I could use it and peopel who search later may be able to use it
