Default Head work and valve job gurus...........NEED HELP!!

I have my head at the machine shop that did my block and they are doing my head also. I am about to order my valves and have a ?:

I'm planning on going with oversize valves and want to knoe what size over valves I could go with using the factory ring seats? The shop that is doing it said that I could go with 1mm over exhaust with no problem but a .5mm intake might be pushing it. Has anyone used a .5 mm intake valve on a stock size ring seat?

If any one has done this or knows anything about this please let me know. Sorry for the dumb ? but I don't know much about headwork but am trying to learn.

+1mm should be fine.
I've used +2mm on SRT-4's with the stock seat rings.

He said at 1mm exhaust would be just fine, the seat wouldn't be cut too thin. But I'm wondering if .5mm over intake would leave the ring seat cut too thin? I just don't want to have him cut it for the new valve and have the ring be too thin and flake way.

Yes you can use a =1mm on the exhaust, but only =.5mm on the intake.they will fit the stock seats.

Thanks Ed!!
The .5mm over intake won't leave the seats to thin? It is safe to go with that?

There is no need for you to be a complete DICK!!

I just want to make sure that I get my question through so I don't mess up my head and spend more money and time in the long run than I have too. I'm quite sure that Ed doesn't care if I ask him to clarify. I think that it is better to research before I act than just go head first into it.

IF YOU CAN'T HELP ME, DO NOT POST!!!! I DON'T NEED TO HEAR YOUR BS!!!!

I'm not doubting his input at all but would just like to no if anyone else has anything to add that I may need to know. I know that there are a bunck of guys on here who specialize in Honda's and nowhat will and won't work. I have had two different inputs so far and I just want to see what I should go with.

Ed said I'll be fine but Earl told me to just go with .5mm over on both b/c of overlap and I've seen 1mm over exhaust and .5mm over intake in a bunch of cars and want to know if they do that with factory seat rings and have had any problems at all or if what Earl said would be better and still show good gains. I just don't want to run into any problems when I'm putting it back together.

Thanks again ED!!!

So if I run .5mm over intake and 1mm over exhaust I won't have any overlap problems? And it is OK for the intake valve to be slightly seated in the alum?

Sorry for all the stupid ?'s, I don't know much about headwork at all and I just want to make sure everything is right and is going to be safe to run.
