Why do you want to lower your compression if your just trying to get 300hp? Can't go wrong with a OEM head gasket with ARP head studs

felpro MLS gaskets are just as good as OEM.

my buddy uses the felpro's, but I don't trust them.......just my preferance. Plus I get the OEM ones for cheap

Re: which head gasket for stock turbo gsr (Schister66)
i really dont want to say who tuned it but the motor was stock and i didnt know how many miles it had. so i dont know if it was their fault or it was that the motor was already weak. let me know what you think. thanks

If you would have cracked one sleeve, we could call it a fluke or a bad injector. Two sleeves would have been a little fishy, but all three makes me think that there was something fatally wrong with the tune. I honestly couldn't think of much else that would have let to such a catastrophic failure other than overall fuel cut to the whole engine. I have a feeling that the timing was a little aggressive and the AFR's a little lean....

Thats true too...there are a few things that could have caused the problems, but i would still investigate the tune a little bit before attributing it to something else.

Re: (DaveF)
i knew this was going to happen. i knew this motor was not going to last long. thats why i had bought a ge block that i was going to build up little by little, but i guess now im gonna have to build it asap. lol. your right i didnt know anything about my car as i am not mechnically inclined. i have a very good mechanic that knows all this stuff like the palm of his hand. its all fun though when you get into this hobby you know that stuff like this can happen. im not worry about it like i said before ill have a 450hp dd sooner than i thought. its all fun.

Re: (DaveF)
I can't say enough about the OEM head gasket. I used the original head gasket on a motor with 80k and put in ARP head studs one at a time and the motor made 375whp, of course I was when it saw boost for the first time, but it held up fine.

Re: which head gasket for stock turbo gsr (mustanggtandgsxr)
come on guys he said he wants a minimum of 300, i say use a cometic .050" HG, that will drop you down to 9.5 which is perfect imo. ive had boosted high and low compression set ups and i must say i prefer the lower compression set ups, currently 8.3:1 right now on 91 octane 333whp and im not even close to the limit, and thats on cast pistons and stock rods...
