Default Have a LOVEFAB manifold? Help me out here....

The quote was from my origional post looking for what kind of turbo i am going to use, looks like it will end up being a garrett maybe HKS version of the GT3037. the quote is there so you have an idea of what I am looking for. i would like to know, from those of you who have lovefab mani's which one (s) will help me achieve my goal. most important are VERY early spool and a smooth powerband. Again... I know alot is in the tuning, but some of it is in the manifold and turbo. I am wondering also about the dynamics of the whole thing, do certain designs make the turbo spool faster than others? as usual, I will be contacting lovefab, AND I WILL BE DOING OTHER research, i just want some proven stories/practical opinions and Dyno chart comparisons if you have em

i am looking for a turbo that starts to make power at around 2500 and puts down about 300 HP near 7000 at appx 9 or 10 psi. and somewhere in the neighbor hood of 250 @ 6 or 7 psi. I really want a turbo that acts like an OEM turbo in where it makes boost and how smoothly it makes boost, let me know what you suggest for the turbine. i understand alot of the "smoothness" will be in the tuning, but the turbo has to spool low and run long. i dont really care what it will make over 12 psi because i will never push it beyond that.

let the education begin if there are parts of this that are un realistic, let me know

If you need a turbo that spools like an OEM turbo, you need something T25-based for a 1.8L motor.

Consider the GT28RS... Flow capability up to 300+ WHP at 9-10 psi. Anything GT30 or greater will just be laggy regardless. For a 1.8L motor to start making boost at such a low 2500RPM, the turbo needs to be very dinky

The ones I've seen come with a T3 turbine housing.

Either way, you won't achieve that "OEM" spool with the GT3037R. Even my GT28RS doesn't spool much below 2500RPM unless I am at a higher gear (3rd, etc..)

maybe I am assumeing, but wouldnt a t25 flange indicate a t25 housing? why would they de-engineer the mount?

the Garrett and HKS unit use the same CHRA.
the Garrett unit uses a t3 flanged turbine housing.
the HKS uses a t2 flanged turbine housing.
the t2 flange is very popular in japan as far as oem replacements are concerned.
hope this helps.
btw we have the t3 flanged Garrett units in stock.

You must have money to burn to be buying HKS drop-ins...

The Garrett units available here are T3 turbine side.

Use my previous post as a reference to yoru goal in achieving an OEM-like spool. You won't get it with a GT3037R. The GT28RS is border-line to stock-spool, and my disco potato is working along with a high compression motor.

well, back to the manifold... wht design is best suited for quick spool? it is my understanding the manifold has alot to do with this.
