has anyone welded up a mini muffler to their open wastegate?
the "whole in your exhaust" sound doesnt exactly float my boat, so i was thinking of welding up something along the lines of a lawn mower muffler (might even get the sob wg exit welded downstream near the cat (at least where there once was a cat )
my ? is this, does the mini muffler make that much of a difference?

I have heard of people doing this. I will be running open atomsphere, and I was thinking of doing this as well. Anyone with experience, jump in and tell us how it went.

He's talking about for the wastegate dump... not for the actual exhaust.

It would still be too small for a wastegate....
If you don't want the sound...plumb it back into the main stream.

Some of us DSM guys us the supertrapp disk only mufflers. They're large, they flow, and they keep the dump tubes quiet. They can be seen here.

Sorry, no pics. Basically just weld it on to the end and make sure its not hanging down too far.

have any of you seen a lawnmower muffler? it's like a chunk of metal with a baffle.
You will not go wrong with a motorcycle or ATV muffler

to be honest i dont think a lawnmover muffler would quite this up, i dont know how you guys could like that sound, it reminds me of an old car w/ a broken muffler.
now the bov and the spooling sound of the turbo is music to my ears!

they make resonator types that are about 10" max...you can always route it down under the pan or to the side of the front bumper
