Default has anyone tested the "NEW" OBX manifold yet?

yes i know i know i will probably get flamed to hell for this but i saw them on ebay and im referring to the equal length looking thing and downpipe combo, i know OBX is kindof a shitty company but i have noticed people have bought these items and was just wondering how they looked on a b series and overall how long they have lasted and how they performed over what they were using before

this is the one i am referring to

Search on Ht man

a guy here named Silly Sohc is building ramhorn style, equal lenght manifold for this price. Shure here you get the down pipe but material used is so thin it won't last long after a few heat contraction, weld's are made nicely for shure but they are made on THIN material, Hell a friend's of mine put this on his car, the moment the down pipe touched the ground a little bump... it was almost closed.

Pay the price for a good downpipe and buy a Silly Sohc manifold, they carry the same price tag but Silly use schedule 40 SS pipe, and he got good welding skill's

Hope this help

Kranked.

i like how they put the 40mm gate (ones that tial doesnt make anymore) flange on there...and made it so the outlet faces the compressor side of the turbo. good idea

Looks by the way they angled the turbo flange you would have to run the turbo so the downpipe is off the drivers side, but the downpipe is for a pass. side mount. Not sure about that.

OBX is actually comnig up with alot of affordable "DECENT" stuff. Some crap, but some are proven to be good. I'd guess this to be a good one... but you never know

I've got one of the new ones..but it isn't ramhorn. Do they have two styles out now? It's made with the thicker tubing, and I will be using my own downpipe not theres.

I haven't put it on yet, but should have it onthere by the end of the month. I think I'll keep a log from day one on how it goes and post it up. I think I can be impartial for a while, lol . Anyway, maybe it'll work, maybe not, but I'll just sick of hearing all the bullshit from people that have never used it (for good or for bad.)

Exactly. I wouldn't say anything about it until I heard from someone who has used it.

Alright I have been reading all these bad posts about people bashing the OBX manifold, but nobody has used one. OBX and ssautochrome are two entirely diffrent companies who get there products from diffrent manufaturers. Also everyone else is copying the ramhorn style of manifold so whats wrong with a larger company doing it.

I am one of the few that have the new style ramhorn OBX manifolds I purchased it off ebay for 325 including a downpipe. THis manifold has been on my car for over three months witha very large GT37 turbo that weighs in at 29lbs. I have no brace on it and it is holding up fine with daily driving and heat cycles. I would ahve loved to purchase a full race manifold, but I spent a fortune on a custome lovefab that has cracked 8 times since it has been on the car. After the manifold cracked the 6th time I decided to take a cheap alternative and buy the OBX.

Thoughts on the OBX:
The collector isn't all that great of a design, but it does the job. Welds ar immaculate. Head flange is a cast stainless steal flange and all other flanges are stamped stainless. The fitment was great and the downpipe was immaculate....I would have probably payed the 325 for just this downpipe.
so the manifold fits great and is doing a great job for right now....I don't plan onrunning this manifold durring the race season(designing something a little more interesting, im a fan of divided collectors)

So now if anyone else actually has one feel free to chime in and give there opinion.
