Has anyone had any problems with weldless oil return bulkhead connectors?
i was gonna install my own turbo, and i have no access to a welder or do i know how to weld...haha. anyway i was wondering if anyone has experience or is using a AN type bulkhead connector such as this:
if so, do you have any problems, what could be the pros and cons, and could i safely use this with some gasket sealer and tight lock nuts?
thanks in advance.

Go with -10 but get the steel one and have a muffler shop weld it for you.

it will work. thats how my friend has it on his car, he used honda bond as the seal, and there's no leaks. however, that bulk head is too long and you're going to need to cut a lot of it off. you only need enough to thread the lock nut on and thats it.

I used that type of fitting on my oil pan (-10 AN) and cut the back off. I used Stat-O-Seals and Hondabond. The guys at amstreetrod.com said that it should seal no problem.
Pics:
With the -10 AN fitting, you will need to drill a 7/8" hole in the pan. It is REALLY hard to find a nice 7/8" bit that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I would HIGHLY recommend a "unibit" drill bit. You can get them new on eBay for about 20 bucks and they drill a perfectly round hole (which is essential for a good seal) in sheet metal.

I use the greddy fitting and some hondabond. Worked perfect. You can still use there parts even if u dont have the greddy kit. It comes with the 2 inch spout to hook up your return line and a plate that bolts through the inside of the pan, along with the hardware....Works perfect if done correctly...

yea ive seen the greddy "spout" doesnt look too reassuring. if something were to hit that spout, the mounting might break off, and then u will have a whole lot of trouble. greddy reccomends welding those as well. i think what earl and the others posted are what im gonna stick with. looks good, gets the job done and its cheap. thanks guys.

My pan in the pic is a D16A6 pan. The D16Y8 pan is similar. You will need to grind the windage tray a little to get the fitting to clear. Or you can just raise it up some and not worry about it.
