matt, I've been warned that they accelerate rusting and can lead to cracking. I too need a solution to heat but i think i'm going to go the route of wrapping everything else up to shield from the turbo's heat and just let the turbo and downpipe be bare.

Actually I was considering buying this. A friend who has a greddy single T78 upgrade on his MKIV supra put the heat wrap on his turbo and downpipe. He said the turbo spools about 400 rpm's faster and that boost climbs faster too. Also the underhood temps are kept way down.
I've asked here about it and everyone said that it will accelerate rusting. I dont see how that will happen since the turbo and dp gets so hot, when does water even have a chance to sit on it--even when its cool to the touch and its a cool damp night out, moisture wont get under the heatwrap?!
People also say that it will promote cracking to the manifold and dp due to constant heat staying within the metals.. Why a main reason for cracks to occur is from metal fatigue of heating then cooling then over and over agian. Well, less stress would be applied that way cause it will heat and cool at a slower rate.

The only downfall I see to it is that it's pretty much an eyesore. But who cares, most here care about form over function.

I say give it a whirl and see how it performs

that and the price. but 400rpm faster doesn't seem half bad.....as long as its true.

Not trying to start an argument, all points made definetly make sense, but I am gonna go ahead and guess that most of us will not see near as much gain as a single turbo supra set up is going to see. That turbo is gigantisaur, and I'm sure is pushing much more boost than most of us.

Just a thought.

Think again. That turbo is kinda big, but isnt it harder to spool a larger turbo? Hmm, thought so. He only runs 15 psi on low boost, but doesnt ever go that low.

Do you even have a turbo on your car??
