Default ????Hard decision to make about my LS/vtec turbo. ----HELP-----

I'm building a 2L sleeved B18a with a GSR head. I just came to a stop with my build cuz I need to make a decision. Should I....

A: Buy a new LS oil pick up, new LS pan and ARP mian studs. I wouldn't use a girdle and rev, to 8k no more.

B: Use the new type R pick up that I alredy have, use the GSR pan that I alredy have, and buy a Endyn or Z10 girdle and have it doweled and possibly align hone the block if I have too.

The problem is that I alredy have the main berrings and an align hone would probably set my clerances off. Another problem is, I don't want to use the LS pan cuz of poor baffling and I THINK that the LS pan holds less oil than the GSR pan but I would like to know for sure.

What do u guys think I should do?????????

go with option B, and also use an ITR oil pump.

get a function 7 five main girdle it comes with dowels - no machining involved, and use what you have. You shouldn't need an align hone.

option b. with either the endyn or the function girdle.

i had no clearance issues with the endyn even with big assed pauter rods.
the tolerances are all in order as well.

I'm not worried about the doweling, I actully have alredy purchased new dowels for it. I just don't want to torque it down and find out that the crank wont spin. Any one else please state your opinion.

Get the machine work done. You wont get it align honed with the other setups because you could probably get away with it. Just get new bearings if you need to after the work is done. It'll be worth it in the long run. You'll feel much better about your engine build knowing that you've taken all the right steps.

The gsr pan holds .2 quarts more.

ask earl. He told me I wouldn't need an align hone after I put the Funtion girdle in.

Yeah I tried talking to him yesterday but he wasn't too helpful. I'm thinking that if I use a doweled girdle I shouldn't need an align hone, right now I don't need it cuz I just installed the crank with all the bearings, torque to spec and the crank was spinning fine. Although when I let it stop spinning for a few minutes I had to kindof brake it loose with a little force, and then it would spin normal.
