Hi.My friend have h22 turbo engine built. After startup engine clicking is bad. And it desipiers as soon as trottle is tached. Any idea what it could be? we took head off and didn't see anything suspicios. And it is not bottom end cause sound is from the top.

What lost motion assemblies are you running? I think the prelude had the spring type, but if they are hydraulic, maybe they are weak, or maybe they weren't soaked in oil before install. Did you adjust the valves also before starting it up? What kind of internals are you running?

listen eve i had build h23a vtec with 90mm art pistons and purchased t25 skyline turbo+intercooler i wanna ask u from where i shoud give oil supply to turbo and do it need high pressure fuel pump and injectors

You need to upgrade to spring type LMA's, thats all... Its got aftermarket cams right?

my car is 92 prelude and had h22a1 already in it ,,,

my prelude has been sitting complete with swap but wont fire ,,,
i swaped everything from my h22a1 to the new h22a4 intakes,harness,fuel,rails,injectors,distributor,e verything.

it turns over but sounds ruff i removed the ex-manifold and notice the 1 and 4 are pushing out fuel and air but 2 and three are pulling air back into the head ?? i have been researching this prob for awaile and dont understand this distributor issue i took of the a4 distributor and put the a1 on and left the sensor unpluged bye the cam cover is this an issue ? the harness is odb1 and the ecu are odb1 injectors are odb1 everything is pluged in except for the sensor at the bottle bye the crank .. and the distributor can only go in one way so i know iam not 180 out the #1 piston is at (tdc) cam are in line but ex-port 2 and 3 are sucking air in does anybody know what would cause this or anything i could try to start this car ran fine before the swap thank you ,,,,,any help would be great ,,

Give some more pinput on the rebuild. is it a stock rebuild, aftermarket ****, whats in the head for valve train and cams etc....

sounds like pistons tapping off the head or a valve tapping a piston. WAIT did you make sure the valve reliefs are on the correct side? could be a valve hitting if a pistons is in backwards

It has MAHLE pistons and h beam con rods. Head is all stock. He took head of and didn't find anything on pistons or valves...

that block is not sleeved^^^ it is an open deck h22 with a block gaurd just letting ya know!
