h22 turbo build

hi

im after a little information on my turbo build

i hav a h22 vtec running a skunk2 inlet manifold and skunk2 2.75"(70mm) throttle body

im looking at some intercooler kits but there is one that is cheap at the moment which has a 3"(76m) inlet and outlet and comes with 3"(76mm) boost pipes

sall i get this one or keep a look out for a 2.75"(70mm) kit?

3" is definately on the larger side... what are you power goals? is the I/C well matched to that?

Don't just buy something because it's a good deal... and don't worry about matching the TB size to the piping size... you can have smaller or larger either way and just make up the gap with a silicone coupler...

it depens on ur power goals, and how built is your motor, what turbo at wat psi, 3" pipes may cause pressure drop

i dont have the turbo itself yet but that intercooler was on a deal

i have a skunk2 inlet manifold and throttle body which is the 70mm one

i am also looking at maybe purchasing skunk2 cams, springs, valves and retainers

i will just get the 2.5" kit then to be on the safe side

i wanted to look at maybe getting 400bhp when turbo kit is completely fitted and mapped

Re: h22 turbo build

2.5 in piping will handle that just fine

also i have seen them with and without flanges which ones do i want, with flange or without?

When it comes to sleeving you block, you dont wanna go cheap. Get the M.I.D sleeves or AEBS any ones that are decked.

You have alot of reading to do my friend.

Your block will determine which sleeves. GE sleeves all the way (Is your block an A1 A4 or JDM A block).

2.5" charge piping is fine. Use a reducer fot the TB... IO run 3" coldside and a backdoored hotside with a hump coupler
