h22 replacement connecting rod strenth?? how much boost????
I spun a bearing in my h23 vtec so the stock h22 crank is going back in.
i am getting a good deal on probe ultralight weight connecting rods.
now i am keeping the stock type-s pistons and using a .061 cosmetic head gasket to lower the compression to 9 to 1
might go with a thicker head gasket depending on what my tuner says.
so my question is with a cast rev hard manifold and ebay t3 63 t4 70 ar turbo at 16 psi overwhelm the rods and pistons?
mahle isn't out of the question but what about the rods? thanks

well those lightweight rods aren't meant for boost, and pushing the stock type-s pistons to 20psi doesn't sound very reliable either. I won't say that it won't hold together, but you would definitely be pushing your luck.
I'd say get stronger rods + mahle pistons (make sure a pro installs these and properly hones your cylinders).
