Default H22... direct port 100 shot...

ok so how long would you expect a jdm H22 with a direct port 100 shot to last? Stock internals BTW. I will be going to the track probably once a month (6-7 runs each visit). I'm new with Hondas so I really need some help as to what I should do to keep this motor running as long as possible. I have posted before about nitrous setups, but I need to know what stock internals will take the abuse in a Honda motor. I previously owned a DSM and obviously those engines take about anything you throw at them. Oh and if anyone has the info where I can contact AN-r and RMF I would appreciate it.

If you are new to the Hondas (especially the H series) I would suggest starting smaller than a 100 shot. Ringlands are weak on the H22, and the JDM ones come with higher compression the USDM ones do. I would start with jetting the nitrous for about 50hp, and playing with it there, and then going up.

You will need to get at the very least a 1 step colder plug, and pull about 2 degrees of timing with the 100 shot. At the very least do these for that 100 shot. Make sure that it is tuned for that 100 shot as well.

Good luck,

Jason

if you are going to do a 100 shot....make sure you have the following?

1 dedicated fuel pump and adj reg. is very good nitrious tuning tool,
2 a colder plug or you can do it old school"make it jump from the side"
3 you don't need to pull as much timer as one would think.....that takes away on the power."instead of taking out timing to a certain point ADD MORE FUEL" that is what makes the power.
4 KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING W/THE NITRIOUS?

NITRIOUS DOESN'T BLOW MOTORS UP....THE TUNER DOES.

h22's do not like heat and can not take extreme amounts aka "detination"
but yes start out like some one said at 50 and go up.AND READ YOUR PLUGS that will tell the final story.

cool! Thanks for the help! I guess I should have mentioned that the engine was recently rebuilt... everything is stock, but USDM pistons were put in place of the JDM ones. So what would that make the compression now?? But the spark plugs and timing is good to know. I need to get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator!

you can do it like this.....get a adj reg....you can put it where the stock one is.next get you a secondary pump, mount it on the p/s strut tower.tee that pummp in to your factory line just before the rail"when you wire the 2nd pump.put it on a dedicated line so you can turn it on and off".turn your stock fuel pressue up to about 60-65 and then activate the 2nd pump just to see your fuel pressure.it should be over 100.but when your spraying you will see a constant 80+.as far as plugs go and timing, just do like i said and you will be fine.

i just came from the track fri. nightdoing a ek hatch like this w/b20 vtec...but we are spraying 300"gsr plate" and we ran 7.50's w/1.65 60's @96 mph.just the back seats out and the p/s seat out.we are gonna fined a set of ek doors and gut them and we should be knocking on 6's door.
