I'd like to know difference in spool and peak power between the two under the same conditions personally. Say on a stock b16 for starters at 10 psi.

a b16 with a .63 T3 is a a good starting point.

he asked for a stock b16.

if you have an 84mm ls vtec, then you are moving much more volume, and i would certainly not use that turbine housing.

It all depends what you are trying to do with the car, the powerband you are after, and what compromises you are willing to make

actually that brings forth a good question on my own situation.

last year i had 81.5mm GSR reving to 9800 with CTR cams and a .63ar t3 gt35e.

this year i'm at a 84mm GSR reving to the same. I want to get over 600whp from the turbo this year and i'll be spraying nitrous at it. recommendations on ar housing. I was going to buy the S compressor cover, might even get the ported shroud version and was considering getting a .82ar housing, as last year i noticed that my powerband started to die past 9000rpms which i found strange iwth the CTR cams.

input mr geoff?

oh yeah, i'm boosting + spraying just because sean @ ERL said i can do anything to my block and it will hold it, so i have to test that theory

i would get rid of the turbo. go to a true 35R with a .82 or a 3567R with a .82 or 1.06

i want the gt3567r but that 1300 price tag is currently holding me back. my goal is only 700, so with the 75 shot of nitrous, i figure i can get pretty close, but i forsee the top end being very restrictive....

Thanks for the recommendation through.

Haha and I will be using a .63 T3 on my 2.3L!

I'm only revving to 7500 though.

It would make sense to go to the Garrett GT35R with the 1.06 housing if you plan on spraying nitrous on it.

Unless you really want to change manifolds?

i had a .63 T3 GT35R on my car with S cover and ported shroud. made full boost in the 5500 range on a 84mm ls/vtec. 616whp at 25psi of boost. power leveled off around 8700 but held flat untill about 9300 rpm. the car would not make any more power by turning up the boost. 30psi made the same power so i turned it back down to 25.

18psi 1st 2nd and 3rd gear and 25psi in 4th gear = 10.0 @ 141 with a LS transmission.

Im getting a T4 GT35R with the V-Band housing. i believe it has a .70 A/R on the compressor side and a .68A/R on the turbine side. i wanted to know if any of u have any spool up times on a T4 GT35R at 15 or more psi. im only gonna be pushing about 350-400whp (whatever 15psi can get me on a LS/VTEC with R cams and LoveFab AC mini-me manifold)

Good choice. Look a couple posts above at xsi-t's post. It really is a great turbo. He has a .81 A/R on the turbine housing. Will have track times next month.
