Default GT3582R with a PTE Turbine housing. Is this normal? Should I be worried?

This turbo is brand new and I wanted to see if $1,300 is a good deal? That is the asking price. Also I'm wondering why the compressor cover does not say garret. Any info will help, I just want to make a wise decision. Thank you.

Sorry I dont know why my pictures did not load and I don't see an option for deleting the post/thread.

This doesn't sound right at all, I'd wait and find something legitimate and less questionable.

Yes I agree, the only reason I considered it Is because the cartridge in the middle has a garret ball bearing part number.

That sounds normal for a GT35R cast wheel.
Garrett T04S standard covers don't have a Garrett logo on them. Precision was also a former Garrett distributor until 2006. So if it has a Precision stamped Turbine housing, that's also perfectly normal.

Now if it had a Billet wheel from an unknown maker, only then would I be worried.

Try loading those photos again to confirm.

You could purchase a BNIB Garrett 3582 for only a few hundred more w/ their warranty if that's the turbo you want...I would suggest getting new. To see one w/o names cast is not abnormal on an older unit.

Yes the turbine housing has a precision stamp. I will try to upload images again. Thank you.

If I post only one picture at a time then it does let me.

Dam i just realised garret is more expensive on the states. Ouch.
I can get a ball bearing GTW3684R , gt35r cast etc for 1100-1200 euros including housing BNIB.

That's until that stock runs out for those vendors. Once they run out, you'll see the price change. So, if you can get it at that price now, get one just to be able to sell it later to make money..

That looks legitimate to me. Even the compressor cover is a standard Garrett unit. Very few covers actually have the Garrett logo. Been like that for almost 20 years.

That's pretty average. A little less than 1700-1900 Euros (converted) here for the same thing

Only the EFR series. The rest of the BW prices tanked after the company changed their vendor parts infrastructure
