What are your thoughts on these turbos. I was considering one of these but I want whats best for my driving and power goals.
84mm bore gsr.
450 max whp. t3 housing
What a/r do you guys recomend.

maybe on a regular non ball bearing turbo...for 450whp with those turbo's i wouldn't hesitate to run the .82.

the turbine size wont matter really on a turbo like that IMO, the .63 would be enough, but its really the compressor side that matters

Yes it does. A smaller turbine will restrict exhaust airflow which will limit top end power.

how can you say that? Look at projectdc2's graph..They state the turbo was pretty much maxed..It made alittle over 400whp. He was running the .63 housing, if he had the .82 housing tq would have been carried farther thus making more HP, i would say it's worth an additional 20-25whp. The smaller GT series turbo's are so responsive that you can run the .82 housings still not suffer bad lag...

look at Phil's dyno and tell me you don't think the .82 would help

Its one of the more impressive dyno's ive seen..i just want closer to 450whp and think the .82 housing is the key to it..
(i hope he doesn't mind me post it...it was on the 16 page thread about mase's cali trip..)

20 psi. race fuel. GE sleeved. CP pistons. eagle rods. ported geeser head. shitty sheetmetal intake manifold. sotkc TB. FR style tubular 3" downpipe 3": exahust GT2871R with .63 A/R housing
880CC injecfotrs. hondata. MASE tuning. ITR cams. iTR valve train.
everyone complains about the torque dropping. but everyone else i see with 400 WHP have like 250 TORQUE. man. im dropin to 225 at redline. but ill kill the **** out of them midrange.

Re: (project dc2)
I definately see why a .82 housing(.86 in this application based on the above facts) would help the torque line.
I think Im barely tapping into the turbos potential at my power level which is why my graph looks so stellar.

Re: (project dc2)
Damn im still stuck between the two snails.
Im hoping to at least hit 350whp on pump gas and low boost 12-14psi
my setup:
84mm rs block
eagle rods
arias pistons(10:1 comp)
stock gsr head
skunk 2 im
and a drag turbo kit
With the stock gsr and drag kit the car made 259.9whp and 191.1tq at 7psi so im hoping the extra displacement and boost will get my goals.
I also need some hondata and a good tuner on maui.
