I've read mixed views aboout where to tee off lines for the coolant lines on a water cooled turbo.....near throttle body and heater core lines. Does one have an advantage over the other and Anyone have pics of their setup

No.
On my D series, there is a small water hose that runs from the intake manifold to the throttle body. You throw that hose away and run a water line from the manifold to the turbo, then the other turbo line to the throttle body. Piece of cake.

For those of you that are water cooled, how much are your coolant temps affected? I'm doing some research into a setup for HPDE's but am afraid 30 minutes of lapping on a water cooled turbo could get way to hot to be able to handle it.

You don't HAVE to, but for longevity of that bearing system, for what you've paid for, you'd better...

I don't have any experience with the gt's but i'm imagining with a little amount of fab any small cooler should work. ie one from a bike or even on made for like psor oil. Do you have a bigger radiator and fan though. Because tons of more heat is created by exaust gasses throughout the system than cooling lines on a turbo. If your concerned I'd look at my radiator and fan .
