Gsr w/ Turbo bogs after 4-5k rpms
This is my setup: Drag manifold, tial wg, Hondata, msd inline fuel pump, aem fpr, *new* fuel filter, *new* ngk spark plugs, no cat, new oil, etc. Well, those are the main keypoints. When I hit hard acceleration, it bogs when I pass around 4-5k rpms, which is close to vtec engagement. This problem has been going on a while for me, even before my turbo setup. It was once solved with new spark plugs. Mostly likely my cap/rotor and wires?

mine does the same thing. i am upgraded my exhuast to 2.5 inch. which bascially fixed the problem for me. now all it needs is tuned...
I would look into that....
Good luck..

actually, I'm running a apex 2.5 cat back exhaust as well. 2.5 piping from downpipe throught out the exhaust. Thanks though!

Its not your exhaust.
sounds more like a tuning issue to me. but since it was happening before you turboed it. It could be wires/cap/rotor,ect.

oh yea, i thought was tuning issue, but Trackmaster had trouble tuning my car due to the bog. Supposely, they claim it to be my cap/rotar and wires.

What ecu are you running? I noticed you are also running hondata. Your bogging could be caused by the so-called "hondata bug" which is not an uncommon problem. I was fortunate enough (when my gsr was turbocharged) i didnt have that problem. This might be an issue you may want to take up with hondata (they were cool enough to offer to take my car for a week or so to solve this problem, but my car ran fine so i didnt take it to them).

Re: Gsr w/ Turbo bogs after 4-5k rpms (oemDC2)
i'm running a obd1 chip with hondata s100. Unfornately, this bogging occured before I installed my turbo and hondata.
it really started when I installed my obd1 chip, than about 2 weeks after, bog occured. I took my car to the dealership and they claimed to be the spark plugs. It was running perfectly fine for about a month, than the bog occured again. Tomorrow I will find out if its really the wires, cap/rotor. Great reply, thanks.

Well I guess we had different issues. I just upgraded my exhaust to 2.5" and it runs like a champ. Hesitation is completly gone. Amazed. Still a little rich...but tuning with fix that...
