The viability of the transmission and what you do/do not have to dump money into at a given power level is ON TOPIC.
Ding ding ding! We have a winner!
I think some D-series ninjas can squeak 400-425 out of one of these setups, but results are going to start varying at those levels.</TD></TR></TABLE>
OK sorry in advance if this sounds dumb/incorrect, but 350whp on a 2,000 lb (roughly) car...seems like that would put down some awesome 0-60 and 1/4 mile times wouldn't it? Won't the stock b16a in that car do like 13-14sec 1/4 mile? With d-series you are working with more HP and a lighter engine with that setup. I ask partially cuz after some thought (and after reading this thread and a few others) I am considering a d16z6 swap now instead of b-series.

Well it depends on traction - with 350whp you will have a hard time with drag radials, let alone street rubber. They can put down good numbers, but usually 'budget' usually implys its a 1st timer's setup, meaning their driving isn't that great. Thats a big reason why most d's aren't 'monsters' on the track.
BTW the b-swap isn't much heavier than a stock d setup, but a turbo d-series will be heavier than an NA b-series. The extra power, when given good tires/driver, can easily spank an NA B18.

So basically at that HP level, it's pretty much up to the driver to make it work for him/her.
