Re: Gsr turbo tranny (Jdm integra DB8)
With your weight and not that much power, the shorter gears will get you moving faster...maybe on a set of 24" Slicks...B16 tranny is my choice. IF you have to shift into 5th gear then turn up the rev-limiter a little higher...make sure you don't go into fifth gear.

b16 trans all the way, anything with 350-400whp shouldn't be running a ls or gsr trans, it makes 4th gear just feel like a dog.. Than again you can play with tires and different final drives.. gsr trans with a 4.7 final drive would be nice too.

Type-R tranny all the way. Ls gears are way to long, even if you have alot of horsepower. Also the Ls tranny has a one piece second gear sycro, which sometimes locks you out when you shift high and fast. All other B-series trannys have 2 piece second gear syncros allowing high RPM fast shifts.

Re: (SPOOLINmatt)
I always thought for a good street car that would help with traction would be a gsr with an LS final drive. That way your 1st and 2nd are a tad longer to help a little with traction and still have the 3rd and 4th and 5th of the gsr.

Get a better tire/suspension/boost controller setup. Don't crap out and get a longer geared tranny because your setup sucks on the street. Shorter geared tranny is going to accelerate the quickest.

Blown90hatcH thats such a stupid *** response. After a certain point it doesnt matter what kind of tires/suspension/lsd blah blah you have, you wont get traction.
And SPOOLINmatt I meant that 1st and 2nd would be a tad longer with the LS final drive in a gsr tranny.

Haha. Sure...after a point you won't get traction, but 350-400whp is a puss amount of power to instantly go to a longer geared tranny.
<--Me who is running an ITR tranny, street tires running 10s in a full out street car with a gear dependant boost controller, proper tires and suspension setup. And the car still traps mid -140s on slicks. But what do I know.

Re: (Blown90hatcH)
lol so you are capable of driving a car that goes 10s and 140+ mph on a strip. you think the average joe is gonna know how to properly put down half the power on a car? Most of the people that are asking questions like this are not going to know how to set up their suspension, boost controller, modulate their throttle and usually dont have the patience to learn

Honda owners....what do we expect? I was just laying down the hard facts. If someone wants to go another route, be my guest.
