GSR turbo need expert advice PLZ
i will be getting a 94 hatch soon and i will have about 7 or 8 grand to drop into a motor and turbo it. So i was thinking of going GSR turbo w/ low compression pistons. Would u guys recommend that? and would it be safe to do that. My hp goal is i want to have over 300whp and a pretty nice torque numbers. I also would like to spool very soon, my friend has an ls turbo and he is fully spooled at 3 rpm. What would i have to do, to spool that fast. Also one last thing what turbo do u recommend i should get thats in my price range to make this car daily driven, long lasting and safe ??? plz any advice will be greatful

with a gsr turbo setup, you can hit 300whp nearly stock. as for turbo choice... if u plan on staying in the 300 range, i would just go with a t3/t04e. cheap turbo, and they make well enough power for what u want.

Re: GSR turbo need expert advice PLZ (dinku27)
here is what I would suggest:
-stock sleeves
-aftermarket pistons (CP, Arias, Wiseco, JE)
-aftermarket rods (Eagle)
-LS crank (adds 40cc's of displacement and slightly more torque)
-stock headgasket
-ARP headstuds
And like bnut said a T04E turbo should be fine for your power goals. With the above suggestion you might just want to check and see what kind of piston/rod you would need to get if you go with an LS crank. You could probably stick with the GSR crank to just keep it simple. With a turbo setup you're gonna have a lot of torque anyways.

Re: GSR turbo need expert advice PLZ (boosted_elf)
There are a lot of setups out there on stock sleeves but with upgraded pistons/rods making pretty good powr. IMO it would be overkill to do sleeves if you aren't planning on making lot of power. A few of the reasons to sleeve would be if you plan on making a LOT of power, or if you want to run a larger bore size or if the block you have has cracked sleeves.
