GSR turbo dyno results..
just got my car tuned recently... by looking at the graphs, my power started to flatten and level off from 7500 to redline.. i'm not sure what is the cause of this, but i'm thinking its because of my intercooler.. here's the specs and results of the tune..
I was hoping for at least 210 whp..
t3t4 60 trim/63ar stge 3 wheel
2.5" charge piping
custom intercooler from a ISUZU truck (NPR)
2.5" to 3" mandrel exhaust system..
maxrev mani and tial BOV
completely stock gsr motor, though the head may have been milled..
results:
197hp and 175 tq @ 7 psi on a Mustang dyno..
will post the pics when i can get it scanned...

Re: GSR turbo dyno results.. (B18Flip)
i know mustang dynos show lower numbers then dynojets.
usually on a dynojet a stock gsr with about 8psi will do like 240whp.
so that seems about right. u need to turn the boost up, that turbo doesn't even start its efficiency range until like 12psi.

Re: GSR turbo dyno results.. (SpoolnG2)
well the bright side is i've averaged about 30 mph after the tune, and that's on mostly city driving w/ some ocassional sprints on the hwy and some hwy cruising as well... with all hwy driving, w/ no sprints, i think i could manage at least 300+ MPT...
filled up at about 437 miles last wednesday and and just filled up today at 654 miles.. i put in approx 7.5 gallons.... quite impressive if you ask me...

Sorry, but that is low. Boosted hybrid had 370hp on a stock GSR on 12 lbs of boost.
What do the A/F's look like? What are you using a fuel managment?

Don't bother posting Mustang dyno numbers up or try to explain. People will remain ignorant. Just get you some nice times, that'll shut them up. Nice setup, nice numbers. How long did you spend on the dyno?

Re: GSR turbo dyno results.. (len)
hondata s200, for fuel management.. and it took 1 1/2 hrs on the dyno...
and yeah len, you're perfectly right about letting 1/4 mile times represent what the car can do...
heck, last yr my old LS setup yielded only 185 hp/175 tq, yet i managed to run 13.5 @103 so go figure, stock block @ internals as well.... i'm shooting for 12's w/ my current setup at least b4 the end of the season..
next yr 11's, here i come!!!

Re: GSR turbo dyno results.. (92HB_HB)
first of all... it's a mustang dyno.
also, his turbo is extremely oversized for only 7 psi. it's more ideal for around 12+ psi. it's definitely not flowing enough to be efficient. which can explin the lack of power up top.
and keep in mind what intercooler he is using... another reason it is probably hurting him a lot up top.
and rather than having the power continually rise until redline, it's start to flatten out. giving him less than ideal peak numbers.
but for the set up, the numbers seem about right. not low, like everyone tried to state.
seriously though, get some good injectors and tune that sucker for at least 10 psi... and get a better intercooler, and i bet you'll see the results that everyone seemed to expect, even on a mustang dyno.

Re: GSR turbo dyno results.. (Tofurky)
thanks for the feeback.. the good and the bad...
and yeah, i am definately going to upgrade my intercooler to a better unit.. my only regret from dynoing was the fact that i didn't have a good boost controller so we couldn't tune to the psi that i wanted to, which was around 9-10 psi... we could only get it to boost to 7 psi consistantly, so we just kept it at that..
hey sherman, i'm getting a bunch of people to go to the tracks this weekend to see what we can run.. it will be my 1st time out this yr so i'm reallly lookn forward to it... and of course we'll post number and vids if i can find a host...
