Default GSR tranny for SI tranny

I have a friend with a vortech s/c on his 99-00 SI and he wants a GSR tranny and he said he wants 2 do a even trade, im just curious if the tranny might be messed up like the gears and stuff like that inside since it has been on hes s/c civic?? would it be ok, or should i just stay with my GSR tranny?? TIA....

Assuming both trannies are in good shape, I'd do it. You're getting a closer ration tranny, better for your normal bolt-on GS-R IMO.. while he get's slightly longer gearing which will help him with traction issues. Question is, just how good IS his tranny
