GSR-T burning oil suddenly
B18c boosted, stock pcv, filtered valve cover.I have 3k miles on the turbo setup with no real problems. but today i looked in my rear view and noticed i was leaving a cloud of burnt oil. Normally I would leave a little black cloud when boosting, but never smoked while still in vacuum.
I was curious if anyone had any insight on this, what could go wrong so suddenly. I mean it was a lot of smoke not a puff. Turbo has no shaft play, oil pressure is normal. The oil return line(-10 AN) has a little kink, but I have never had any issues prior to today. Im going to work on it in the morning.....comp. test, check turbo for any oil etc..
But if anyone has any ideas that will help me figure this out, it would be greatly appreciated.I know the pcv is an issue and I am planning on sealing off the black box hole, and opening up the two holes for ventilation this winter when the car is not being driven.

Re: GSR-T burning oil suddenly (civintegra)
well I took off the IC piping that connects to the compressor housing, and there is a fine coating of oily soot. Is this normal.
Also the kink in the oil return line is not sharp enough to plug up the oil. But as is goes down to the oil pan it does start to angle up a bit but no more than 1/2". Could this case flow to slow, and the seal to prematurely give up.
I cant find my comp. tester so I will have to find a place to get one on thangsgiving

well, I think I found what is wrong. I pulled my plugs and the one that came out of cylinder 2 was broke. The piece that you gap broke off. And the compression number for that cylinder is 25psi less than the rest. This sucks. I guess im going to be busy this winter. I could see what looked like oil in the spark plug hole.

okay the numbers are way off what they should be for 81.5mm 9:1. #4-125 #3-140 #2-115 #1-125
I think that I should have around 180 across. what does this sound like?
I am going to pull the head, and check for any substantial scoring on the cylinder walls. Then Probably take the head to the machine shop to do a vacuum test. I think it is the head gasket but I have no idea at this point.

Timing needs to be tuned as well.

Re: GSR-T burning oil suddenly (HamiltonRex)
yah I was waiting until i was able to get on a dyno, before I messed with the timing. So I kept the timing really conservative, not that that even matters at this point. Cause I will have to start all over more than likely.
