gsr pistons in LS vtec turbo?
wondering if anyone has ever done this? someone probably has. did a quick search and didnt find anything. i used the compression calculator and it gave a nice 9.9:1 compression ratio. iv got an old vtec head in mint condition sitting in the basement and an ls block i raped parts from for my current setup so i figured this might be a nice combination for 12psi boost. any ideas?

why hasnt anyone done this? it might be better than a turbo gsr. 10:1 compression is ideal in my mind. however the stock pistons might be an issue but they should hold up to 12 psi

Because it is idiotic to build a motor with stock, cast pistons then expect it to be somehow 'better' than any other stock piston equipped motor. Anyways, you should be looking at HP numbers not boost pressure (since boost pressure is fairly irrelivant when speaking about how much power a piston will handle).

well when you dont have all the money in the world its way cheaper than buying a b18c and it will make just as much power if not more. when you have a budget and not wanting to make crazy numbers then it will work.

my friend is about to do the same thing but he also has gsr rods and pistons and i was wondering about how much power it will pull and whats the compresion on it.
