GSR Greddy Turbo Question - Skunk2 Intake Manifold?
Hey Guys - Just always doing the researching.
I have a Skunk2 IM - so if I were to purchase a Greddy kit for the 96-99 GSR, the charge pipe wouldnt bolt up, obviously, to the TB. What kind options do I have there if I really want the GSR turbo kit from Greddy?
Do I just need to put the stocker manifold on, or could I maybe run a ITR spec charge pipe or something. I just havent had experience with it - I tried searching...but naturally that was a failure.
I appriciate the help guys - been around NA for a long while, but I am just getting my feet wet in the FI idea. The Greddy turbo kit is quite appealing to me, hence my desire to stick with it.
Thanks!

Thats a good question for anyone running a GSR turbo kit running an "ITR style" Intake manifold such as the skunk2 or ITR. I assume its not hard to modify the charge pipe to connect to the lower throttle body but its a question I had myself.

Hmm. Alright - Can anyone confirm if the stock downpipe will bolt right up to the Skunk2 IM?

i honestly don't think you'll have a problem. the only thing it will do is pull the piping further up and back.
As long as the piping isn't already super tight you'l have no problem.
I had the dragIII gsr piping connected to my stock gsr intake manifold. when i installed the skunk2 intake manifodl, I had no problem whatsoever bolting it up.

you can always go with a custom piping made for your app or as stated already get a AEM CAI for a R and weld a flange.

You could just cut the charge pipe somewhere on the straight leading up to the TB and use a soft pipe (DSM style or silicone hump hose coupler with long legs) in between to allow you to move the TB section up and aft/fore as necessary.
Using a soft pipe coupler in that section will leave it with a weak section that's susceptible to boost leaks (given), but it also helps cushion engine movement and takes away some of the stress from the coupler at the intercooler to keep that coupler from popping off when the engine is torquing back/forth. Or, is that even an issue?

I should clarify that I meant the vertical section of the charge pipe, not the horizontally lateral section leading up to the TB....since you need to move the pipe up.

Sounds like it would work. The info is appriciate gentleman. If it doesn't work as aforementioned I can always try what you just said Ben. Naturally...Ill finish NA first...but it's fun to think about sometimes, hmm?

I ran the Skunk2 IM with my Greddy kit and had very slight fitment issues. Only "problem" I came across was that the downpipe didn't quite reach the exhaust. Just brought it to a muffler shop and had the extension added on. I was running the GSR Greddy kit in my Civic.

well at least the charge pipes are steel, so you can just take it to a muffler shop and have them weld in a small section if you needed to

where did you get your kit, and what came in the kit. did you get the FMIC, and what else did you get to go along with the kit? like did need some kind of piggy back, or new injectors?

The Greddy kit comes with a "blue box" (dumps fuel in there), and RC 310CC injectors.
