Greddy type S, Turbo Xs Rfl , or Hks SS ???????????

ok guys im peicing my kit together and about the only thing left to get is the wastegate and bov. im gettin the 38mm tial, but i cant decide on which bov to get. I love the way the type s sounds, but also like the rfl, but i can get an hks for cheap, but alot of people have that. I want a loud ass bov.. if anyone has sond clips that would be great !! leme know which you like best and why. this would be going on an eg hatch with b16, t3 super 60, jrc 8" , tial 38mm wg, lovefab mani, hondata ..etc.. I cant wait for Spring !!!!!!!!! chicago weather suks ass

if you like a loud woosh of air, get the RFL.
i love it.

the greddy and hks are more high-pitched.

I think RFL stands for Really Fuckin Loud..

Those bovs start leakin at high boost,, but all you have to do is add a couple of washers inside the bov to stiffen it up a bit..

I vote HKSss..Dont like the sound it makes but it performs so.. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

My first pick though would be a tial bov..Only complaint about that bov is the fact that it comes with a paper gasket..no big deal though just use it as a template for a metal one..

I have a friend with an RFL, one with an HKS, and one that had the type S. The RFL may sound good at first...he was happy when he put it on but now he's tired of it and wants a different one. The HKS (on same type of car...STI) sounds good too but you kinda have to listen for it so may not be best if you want something really loud. Another friend had a typeS on his teg and I never get tired of that sound.

Basically if I were choosing it would be between the HKS and the Greddy. The RFL is lound but I don't like the sound of any of the turbo xs bov's.

just my opinion btw.

The HKS SS is the only way to go. It gives off a nice High-Pitched 'pssshh' that lets everyone know that you're turbo'ed. Personally I hate the sound of the Type-S and RFL cause I think it sounds way to much like a BOV on a diesel truck. Its just a 'whoosh' and not a 'psssh'.

And here is a link to sounds of a bunch of different BOVs. Enjoy. Get the Super Sequential!!

Your the first to say Greddy typeS was loud. Mines and few others, gave a nice quiet pitch pssh! almost like a whistle of pressure. GREDDY got my https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

They don't..Name a bov that can handle 60-80 psi of boost..
That woosh you hear is the turbo spooling down

The hks isn't the loudest of the three but is the best functional IMO because its a push pull bov,I know you wanna be different but there is a reason why so many people have it including myself

also, almost all semi's have air brakes, they have air tanks. they have a pressure bleed which makes a big woosh sound when the tank reachers the predetermined psi. that is most likely the woosh he is talking about.

Re: (boostjunkie757)

I have the HKS SSQ and it has been great. Love the tone, it's not a clean high pitched whistle like the Greddy. And the guys at HKS say that the internal push -pull design is good for very high boost. In other words the more boost you run the harder the valve is oushed shut. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
