Greddy turbo users Downpipe question
What is the best path to take to upgrade my downpipe to 2.5?
I have searched and it seems that most people have them custom made, but are there any downpipes from other kits like rev hard or drag kits that bolt up to the greddy exhaust manifold?
Cliff notes. Is there a certain downpipe I should keep my eye out for or should I just have one custom made? Thanks in advance

Re: Greddy turbo users Downpipe question (Dengar)
i have a greedy kit in my 96 hb y8 engine , and im going to build a new down pipe section from the turbo to the b pipe. I dont think you are going to find a premade down that is bigger.

Re: Greddy turbo users Downpipe question (Dengar)
i can make it, im doin charge pipes for hella-JDM next week or so, so i can use his car to base it off of, its a D16y8 on a EK hatch so i can make it to fit perfect, new flanges itll be 2 inch flared to 2.5, the one i made for mr. alex ( quad-damage) was made from cutting his stock one, however just recently i figured out what kind of flange it is and i haev a muffler bender so i can do a 1 off that fits perfect for your car. 2 inch flared to 2.5, with o2 bung new flange etcc, tig welded aluminized mild steel, 175 shipped to you. PM me if interested, i should have one ready in about a week or two, depending on when mr hella-jdm comes through

Re: Greddy turbo users Downpipe question (project dc2)
i have heard of people having problems with the greddy kit after goin to a bigger DP.. ie.. 2.5-3.0"
somepeople say it will cause boost creep/boost spike.
has anyone (with a greddy kit) had a problem with boost spike/creep after upgrading to a bigger DP?
also if someone already has a "stencil" for on and can make it for you, have them do it.
if not get the pipes and take it to get welded.

yes but unless you dont want your AC anymore its pretty much impossibe to fit a divided housing in there. the wastegate and downpipe act as 1, if you want a divided housin itll be harder cuz you gotta fabricate a plate that goes between it all. bigchance of leaking here. a lot of people went greddy for 1. wanted quick spool 2. carb legal 3. ac compatible and overall friendly install
the 2.5 downpipe off the greddy elbow doesnt effect any of this, mine is gonna be a straight bolt on affair and it will not interefere with any AC compatibility etcc the car will overall have quicker pool and more power. what i may do is make a 20 inch extension piece with it thats flared, so if one were to want to get rid of the cat it can be done so. the other piece will have a smaller flared pipe with flange when emission comes along. cool ehh?

i would be down for one of the 2.5 dp for the greddy sohc kit, im running it on my y5, but placement is identical to the y8.... so if u get mult orders to drop the price down a bit, IM IN!

Again, I don't have a boost gauge, but I think I'm spooling about 500rpm faster...

2.5" custom dp here on my sohc greddy kit. No real bad spikes Like 1 psi at most. But then again im only running 8.5 psi. The highest its ever gone was 9.5.
Keep in mind i am running a 2.5" cat and resonator so i will have more spikes because of the backpressure. If you run a testpipe and no resonator spikes will be less severe.

Re: Greddy turbo users Downpipe question (Dengar)
i had a dp made at a local muffler shop.
off topic, but you guys using the greddy 18g turbo, does it hold full boost 'til redline? i know the td04 doesn't, but what about the 18g, how is it compared to the 15g td04?
