Default Greddy Turbo Timer / HKS Turbo Timer installs... neither work

I dont know if Ive had two faulty turbo timers or something within my car is wrong. I had an HKS turbo timer for the past two years. For the first year it worked fine, then after a long winter of it being parked and working on the car, it no longer worked. By this I mean it powers up and reads time but when the car is turned off, the engine stops. The timer will beep down the time and run down then shut off but the motor doesnt stay running. I rechecked all the wiring and it was all connected solidly (soldered) and matches the correct way.

Well I decided to buy another timer... this time Greddy. I soldered the wires exactly how I was supposed to and made sure all connections were perfect. The timer works as in powers on and goes thru all the selections but when the car is off, everything shuts off. This time, the timer doesnt even stay on and count down. It just says "off" and then goes blank.

Anyone with electrical and or timer install experience, please help.

Thank you.

Maybe a stupid question, but do you have the ebrake wire hooked up? Or you ebrake down when you turn your car off?

I checked the connection to it also. THat and my VSS wire are hooked up. EVerything is hooked up according to the directions. The brake light is on when the handle is up and off when it is down as well so I know there is a connection/loss of connection at that point...

It came out of a car that it worked in. I KNOW the wires are soldered correctly. I followed the infamous close up pictures of the ingnition connections and I made sure the ebrake and vss wires were ran correctly.

The gray wire doesnt go anywhere does it?

Well i found the switch and something interesting happened. When it was in one position, when i turned the key off the car turned off like normal. When it was in the other position, when I turned the key off, the car shut off and the timer said Off and turned off but my climate control still ran. The fan ran until I pushed the switch back to the opposite position.

WTF?!?!?!

Its not connected to any fuses. I sodered it right to the ignition setup on the steering column as shown in the picture below with the following directions:

off of the ignition are the following wires;

White (battery, 12vt)
White/Black (ACC)
Black/Yellow (IG1)
Yellow (IG2)
Black/White (ST)

Off of the Greddy Turbo Timer are the following wires;

Red (12vt, connects to the White wire on the ignition)
Green (connects to the Black/Yellow IG1 wire on the ignition)
Blue (connects to the YELLOW, IG2 wire on the ignition)
Black (Ground)
Brown (connects to Parking Brake wire, there is only one parking brake wire underneath center armrest)
Purple (speed sensor wire, must be connected to apporpriate wire off of the ECU. I didn't have a wiring manual, so I didn't hook up this wire yet. but even without this wire hooked up the timer will work. Someone said that you should eventually want to hook up this wire so the the "AUTO" timer feature can be used)

If it is used I could see maybe some problems. I'm not really familiar with the wiring 100%. Would your car have 2 acc. wires? It seems like only one is connected. With the car running I would take a test light and stick it on the turbo timer side of the wires to see if you are getting potential. Could be a an okay physically looking solder but no actual electrical connection..Just a thought.
