Default -Greddy turbo kits-

Okay I searched but can't seem to find anything on Greddy turbo kits, seems like Garret/HKS is the way to go but that's not really in my price range so I decided to go Greddy but what's everyones opinions on Greddy turbo kits? For those that have or had Greddy turbo kits in their cars, how was the experience like? What were the main pro's and con's about em' and also what kinda BOV/ITC's were you guys using because the kit itself doesn't come with those in the package. If you guys could please give me some tips to get me started then that would be greatly appreciated. Any tips or helpful information is welcomed. Thanks...

I can tell you the install is simple, just really time consuming. But you and a friend could do it in a day. Take your time, have some ale, stuff it just plain time consuming, I helped my friend with his Si and the same kit. It may take 2 days, getting the right tools, and getting the welding for the bov, couple other things.

Pulled hard from 2000 mustang gt's.

Blew only a couple months later...Friend tried to tune with only SAFC, went to lean and blew a ring.

Yeah I know the install is simple because me and my other friend installed a somewhat custom turbo kit onto his B16 EJ1 within a day and a half, and as for the welding of the BOV, I can have my dads shop do that for me.

First off how did you friend blow the turbo?? Is there anything I can learn from his mistake or did he just blow it because he simply pushed the turbo too hard? Anyways let me know and like I stated before everyones opinions/feedbacks are welcomed.

Doesn't anyone have any feedbacks on their Greddy turbo kits(esp. for an LS motor)?

i have a greddy kit for the single cam. when you open the box, install everything except the e manage.Throw the e manage away and take the car to a tuner and go with crome/uber/hondata..it will make more power, run better and be much safer

I have a greddy kit on my Si. Everything that came with the kit worked out great. I also became addicted, jacked the boost up to 13psi. Ran it for over a year. Fried 3 ringlands. Now it's built pushing 16psi. Great turbo, great response. I'm also upgrading soon though.

If you keep the boost reasonable, it'll work out great.

the greddy kit is a good kit to start off with.. basica install.. shouldn't take you more then 3 hours to install.. both the 15g and the 18g spool up nicely.. i ran both turbos on a z6 motor.. they both hit full boost around 3500-3800.. the kit can make some nice power if tuned right.. for your car, get urself an obd2-obd1 harness and get it tuned.. it'll make good power.. right now im running the apexi kit and i like it alot more then the greddy.. 15lbs of boost baby..

Hmm so okay basically the Greddy turbo kit is a great starter t-kit? Sounds like everyone basically upgrades after awhile and once they get more money so I guess I'll do that too but I think I'll be good with just a bolt on t-kit for now.

I had a greddy kit (back when)....

Most people outgrow the greddy kit...it's like training wheel's for boost....lol

Imo its best not to limit your self to a ghey *** mitsu internally gated turbo system...just get a t3 flanged mani/turbo setup...it will be much better in the long run.

I agree with that but I just don't have that kinda money yet, and I would go LS/V but I don't have the time so I think a Greddy turbo kit would be good for a starter like me. I'm kind of a "noob" when it comes to turbo's because I was always an all-motor type of guy until recently. And I don't wanna invest too much money into my car because eventually by next year I'm gonna want an S2000 so yeah...
