Greddy turbo kit owners- blue box ....... hate it or love it
Just as the title says....love the blue box or hate it. Does anyone have problems with it and if so what you have done to remedy it?

It's not as bad as people say, but it's not that great, either. If you have an OBD2 check for emissions inspection, it's a good thing to hold onto. Other than that, considering the other "almost free" fuel management options you can get now, I see no reason to use it.

Do you think hondata can be used to pass emissions? What do you mean by almost free? Please elaborate......

Greddy turbo D16Y8, 8 psi, stock downpipe w/60mm exhaust/test pipe, FMIC, etc.
183whp/163tq from a ~$50 all-in-one fuel management setup.
Ghetto? Yes. The A/F is tuned by how much boost you run, i.e. 5 psi, rich, 8 psi, rich/stoich, etc. My A/F plot is fucked, super-rich in the midrange, then running lean up top.
Cheap? Yes. Cheaper than the hack, Uberdata, etc. You utilize your stock fuel system (for the SOHCs, at least)
Good for a daily driver? Yes, if you keep the boost low (READ: < 7-8 psi). It may not have perfect A/F throughout the RPM range, but it makes good power, and my car's been running on it for TWO YEARS now without any serious problems on a STOCK 135k mile bottom end.

Emissions? Depends on the laws in your state and how they test.
Almost free, because the software may be free, but you still need to purchase, then modify an OBDI ecu and buy an OBD2-OBD1 adapter harness, just like Hondata. Plus, a wideband if you plan to tune yourself, and a bunch of small parts that I know absolutely nothing about. Pick up the latest Honda Tuning magazine (It says display until June 14). There's an article about Uberdata and Crome, along with some older programs. I'm not really interested because I have Hondata, but they show you step by step how to chip your ecu and get everything ready.

Are you OBD2? If yes, go with the bluebox since Hondata can't communicate with OBD2 emmissions equipment.

Really....... I am OBD2... What about OBD1 owners? Are they ok to get emissions done? Or does it depend on the inspector? If he knows your supposed to be OBD2 thats how he runs it?

Inspection for OBD2 emmissions requires the station to hook up their scanner to your ECU - OBD1 ECUs do not have this communication feature, so you will instantly fail.

You have to use the 310 injectors, but you should pass. It's 50 state legal.

Re: (Drkaccrd)
Once again, it depends on the emission inspection in your state, and county. It's different everywhere. If you have an OBD2 scan check in your area, you will fail with Hondata.
