Greddy Turbo Kit 00 GSR
I was planning on getting a 96-99 GSR greddy turbo kit for my 00 gsr. I know that i will have to modify the downpipe to reach my cat and that the blue box will also have to be rewired. I was wondering if after all this if my car would still be able to pass smog? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Greddy Turbo Kit 00 GSR (TKteg)
u can make more power with less boost with a t3t4. Greddy will just make you want to upgrade later, and it will cost you more to upgrade rather to just start off with something better.

my goal isnt to make big numbers i just want to road race or drive the touge..so i thought a smaller turbo would spool faster but then again it has a weaker top end.

why do you need to modify the down pipe? the down pipe on the Greddy turbo kit will reach perfectly. the blue box is tuned for your motor but you might need to tweek some things like ignition timing and stuff but i suggest the e-manage because you'll be able to tune your car. you should be able to pass smog, meet CARB requirements, and put down some decent numbers with a Greddy turbo kit.

you need to modify the downpipe because its too short to reach the CAT its made for a 96-99 gsr the 00-01 have longer pipes

i hade a greddy kit on my prelude for about a year and i liked the way it responded on my car!!! i know this is not the same car that you have but im trying to give my imput. the spool up was so quick from low end to mid range but top end forget it. it died out so bad in the top end I had to upgrade, but for someone who just wants to be turbo or just to do a couple runs here and their its not to bad of a kit.. but it so badly pushes you to want more power.

Re: (TKteg)
i have went from 5.5 psi to 7 psi to 9 psi on the GReddy kit and the more you increase the boost, well like any turbo it really starts to come alive. i am happy with the GReddy kit for the time being but like many wish i hade something with more potential. my car ran 13.6 with the GReddy kit and made 214 whp, would have made more but the exhaust was waaaay too small.
its a nice kit for the street and if you want something with fast spool its pretty much a good deal.

i think you cna pass smog if you are running a cat that meets standards. TO BE SAFE ABOUT IT, I would have two maps to run on. 2 psi map for smog/valet and normal street/daily map
I am looking into this kit for my 94, but i am trying to figure out what will last the longest. boost is addicting, but i don't want to rebuild in a year.

use a jumper harness when wiring in to the factory ecu harness. that way your box's connection is solid. never wire inot a factory harness directly unless you wan tot replace it eventually. expeically if you keep re-wring like that

Re: (au-gsr)
SDGSR01 said this in another post <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by sdgsr01 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I have it on my 01 GSR. You just gotta drive it to a muffler shop after you install it and have them make an exension, so the downpipe and the cat meet up. It'll run with the blue box too, just find a pin out of an OBDII ECU and cross reference it to the instructions.
I upgraded to a Hondata S200B and P28, but it ran fine with the blue box.</TD></TR></TABLE>
so i could use a jumper harness insated?
