Greddy put a restrictor plate on their B18C kits? WTF? Do I take it out?
(EDIT for idiots like me that don't search...
https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=2
... Sounds like it's for preventing boost spikes on non-intercooled kits? I'm gonna call GReddy to see what they say.)
Anyone get a GReddy kit with a restrictor plate (maybe 1.75") right at the intake pipe? Anyone actually using the stupid thing? This kit came with the Blue Box but I'm not using that.
Maybe the restrictor plate is a hack solution to boost creep? Ha Ha Ha.
Mine's in the middle of being installed, with greddy intercooler, emanage, Profec B Spec 2.
So, what, should I take that plate out???
Thanks!!

i forgot to add, it seems to aid in spool time, but it could have been in my mind

Stock greddy downpipe, no cat, racing medallion exhaust.
Are you worried about downpipe size affecting boost creep? I might guess bigger downpipe = more creep..... what are you getting at?

Did you get it new?
Check under the filter, there might be a plate tack-welded in four places at the end of that hose? Seems like ALL GSR kits came with it, at least between 2002 and today, according to honda-tech search
I guess other kits (Civic Si etc.) didn't come with it.

Mine didn't come with it (Si). I've got a 2.5"-3" down pipe, no cat and full 3" exhaust...no boost creep or spiking to date. Stays at a steady 9psi with the MBC on there.
