Greddy kit (internal wastegate) + b18c5 = overboost :(
Hey all,
Well my tuner finally got everything together and put my car on the dyno... stock b18c5, greddy turbo kit, greddy intercooler, e-manage, profec B spec II. Stock greddy downpipe, test pipe, and Tanabe Racing Medallion exhaust. I still have the stupid intake restrictor plate on the intake (comes on the b18c kits from Greddy).
Anyhow- it hits 9 psi at 5800 RPM and won't go any lower, even disconnecting the profec B and loosening the spring on the internal wastegate. Didn't take it past that.
So, looks like I need an external wastegate. I was looking forward to the quieter internal wastegate.
Anyone surprised? Any suggestions?

you might try changing vacuum sources to the wastegate. See if that makes it open sooner.
Try the braker booster line.

It looks like it'll go past 9 PSI if I took it any higher (which I didn't want to, not with a stock ITR motor).
I'll try changing the vacuum source and lengthening the actuator arm a bit. Otherwise I'm off to get an external wastegate.
Hopefully I'll get it running stable before a HPDE in a week (Blackhawk farms in Rockton IL)
I'm open for more ideas Thanks for the quick posts guys.
