Default Greddy EGT guage stuck at 1200C..help

Well i finally got home today from school so i can start workin on my car. The battery was dead so i jumped it.
After i jumped it, the EGT temp is stuck at the MAX past 1200 degrees celcius, which leads me to believe its not the actualy temp but sumthin is mechnically/electrically wrong with the guage. No matter if im on/off throttle its at the max where the needle is hittin the plastic thing to where it can go no more.
This happened after i jumped the car...dunno if its related. What could cause this?

Thanks

damm tahts sucks man, greddy is cash as it is... and tehy say autometer sucks good luck with that, i doubt its the probe, probably a glitch in the needle moving mechanism cause something has to literally be holding the needle there, right? sounds logical to me... good luck with that

hmm.. same thing happened to me... my idiot friend left my lights on and me had to jump start... egt guage didnt work after that.. I pulled it out and the probe looked like elmer fudds shotgun.. the end of it was all blown apart.. I wasnt sure if the jumping did it or if I had some crazy backfire.. but now I know

you can buy a new probe from greddy for less than the price of the guage (not much less).. I think mine was about $80

I pulled the probe out and it looks fine. Electronically, is there a fuse or sumthin i should look to see if its messed up? (I would'nt know, the EGT-the turbo for that matter came when i bought the car from my good friend....whos on vacation )

Stupid question... but have you tried to move the needle using the warning level adjustment? Same thing happened on my boost gauge, changed the warning level and then it worked fine from then on.

hehe that kinda happened to me... except i dropped mine then the needle jumped. I shook the **** outta it and it went back to normal. Then I was lazy and hooked up the 12v constant wire to a ignition source and everytime i would shut the car off it would jump back to 1200. So I shook the bejezus outta it again and did it right and now it works. Not sure on the accuracy but it's consistent and it works hehehe.

Might wanna get it checked... My boost gauge reads way off.. like over .2 bar too high at full boost when I compared it against my GM 3 Bar. I redid my vacuum lines, tapped my brake booster and installed a vacuum log... same problem with my gauge not being accurate.
