Greddy D16 @ 240whp... how much torque?
I'm a couple of weeks away from dropping in my built D16 block into my Civic... I also have the AEM EMS sitting idly by waiting to be installed, and I am trying to finish my parts shopping... I'm factoring in a rather generous (at least I think so) 240-250whp capacity... how much torque should I expect from this type of setup?
I'd really like to keep my HDSS ACT clutch if I could (this thing feels great!)... I don't want to go to a 6-puck setup or a XT pressure plate as this is a very daily-driven car!

Should be fine
I think the Website say's it can take 230ft/lbs
you should have around 180-200 torque.]
How much boost do you think you are going to run?

Yes, I do recall that ACT's website indicated a 223lb/ft capacity for the HDSS clutch, although I'm not quite sure how much of a margin ACT has built in for that figure. Just not sure of what to do!
As far as boost goes, I plan on no more than 17psi, even on 100 octane fuel... (14-15psi daily max on pump gas), 9:1 SRPs, Eagle rods, stock 75mm bore (NO overbore) and a blockguard... any more and I'd be risking block failure!

Your asking for trouble running that much boost on that tiny td04. Not trying to flame just speaking from experience. When I ran 13 psi the charge air was so hot that the stock ecu started pulling timing. Not sure if a much bigger intercooler would have helped (small greddy), but the turbo just couldnt keep up.

Yeah I don't think you'll get far pushing that little turbo that high, 12 PSI is probably the most it will turn out and still be somewhat efficient. Might want to swap it out with a TD05-14B.

Nah that TD04 *should* be able to flow about 14psi before you really overheat it, especially if you've got a good sized intercooler onboard, but I dont know about 250whp, I mean I pushed 217 @10psi, those 4 psi I doubt are gonna yield an extra 33whp +/- with such hot air. Maybe 235-240whp but I doubt any more. Oh and I also netted 180lb/ft of torque at those 10psi, so I'd say around 215-220ish wtq @ 14psi

You could also look into getting a tdo5-16g, the turbo supplied with the integra greddy kit. If I'm not mistaken that turbo would bolt up to that manifold.

Re: Greddy D16 @ 240whp... how much torque? (turboeg)
Hmmm... lots to think about...
Current model Saabs use this turbo (Mitsu TD04-15G) from what I recall, and they run over 1 bar on the low boost mode. High boost (overboost) is 20psi+.
DSMs have an even smaller turbo and run around (correct me if I'm wrong) 14psi stock.
Both cars have a smaller intercooler than I have (I have the Greddy Type 24, the bigger one...).
I also have the AEM EMS, so it'll be tuned properly to run on the turbo... The turbo's good and I think it should get more props than it does! I do lots of canyon driving (my preferred driving style), and I need a smaller turbo that spools anyhow...

Gen2 DSMs run 9-10psi stock???
My buddy's 99 GST Eclipse with Greddy downpipe, exhaust, and intake runs 15psi all day long... no boost controller or anything like that... I figured it'd be at least 13psi stock! My bad!

If that, they have a T25 right? Having a hard time keeping track of DSM cars..I know the 1st gens had the 14B which is a good all around turbo, unlike the T25 which is more of a low end turbo better suited to cars that don't rev quite as high as Hondas.

Awrite... I'll get the bigger pressure plate and let everyone know how the turbo takes 15psi... hopefully well!
