Default Greddy BLUE BOX & OBD1?? i searched, no help...

hey guys, i spend the past like 2 weeks searching and reading all the threads that had blue box discussions....but none really answered my questions...so here it is, plain and simple, because i've read threads on HT, and all over the internet with different answers...

DOES THE BLUE BOX WORK WITH OBD1?

it was made for obd2, ok i know that...and yes i know greddy kit isn't an uber cool 30psi 800whp kit...so lets not get into all that...i just want to know...

WILL THE BLUE BOX RUN MY OBD1 GSR CORRECTLY WITH THE GREDDY KIT?

im currently running vortech fmu, and missing link...but i'd like to run it with the bluebox...

i already have the wiring all matched up and cross-referenced from obd2 to obd1 and everything. so i know i can wire it up, but will it run correctly?

again, im not looking to make max hp or do anything special, i just want a reliable, boosted gsr, street legal in CA...so please help me!

(also...if i run the blue box, do i still need the missing link?)

thanks guys!

looking at greddys site it just shows, 4 injectors, and the map intercept. i know it will work on an obd1 car, and i never noticed a difference between the boxes per obd.

well...im not sure what your saying...i think you're just saying you don't think obd2 or obd1 should matter as long as its wire right? is that what you're saying?

also...heres a cheat-sheet i made myself based on the greddy install guide for bluebox, obd1, and obd2 pinouts...let me know if this looks right guys...

here is what i ended up with...so in the "obd1" column, is what im going to be tapping into...

here is the greddy pinout for obd2

here is obd1 wire diagram/pinout

and this is obd2 wire diagram/pinout

well since the p06,28,30,and 72 all share the same wiring, the bluebox wiring for the d series, p28 will be the same for all 4.

are u running the ORIGINAL greddy blue box or the blue emanage? the e manage (rectangular, not square shaped box) is not cali legal just fyi. the old greddy blue box was made for cars that had OBD1 or 2, and the e manage works with OBD1 (personal experience)

I have ran it (along time ago) on OBD1 and it worked fine. So yes, you can do it.

I have a blue box from my greddy kit FS. I used it on my 2000 Si and it worked every year for me to get my emissions passed. I even made it to where I wired in the pigtail into my main harness so I could just plug the blue box in every year.

This should work for you as long as you wire it up correctly.
