GREDDY Blue Box FCU Questions....
What are the disadvantages of the FCU? I see people wanting to get rid of them and switch to an FMU. I understand this on a 4th G car where it won't work, but on a 5th or 6th, wouldn't it be better than the FMU/Bigger pump method since its actually reading the MAP and increasing the fuel as opposed to increasing the pressure mechanically to raise the fuel. It seems more accurate to me.
What are the FMU's worth money wise?
Thanks

The black box sucks altogether, it was a sad attempt by GReddy to get the car to add more fuel my fooling the ECU into thinking it was constantly cold, hence disabling VTEC. The bluebox on the other hand was a great improvment, but it's still limited to all of I belive 8psi of boost before it looses it's ability to manipulate the injectors to add fuel. So if you wanna stay under 8psi, bluebox is a fine alternative to an expensive standalone and allows you to keep the stock pressure at the rail and to the injectors.

Re: GREDDY Blue Box FCU Questions.... (VTC_CiViC)
VTc is right on the improvements but in my case of my gsr or any other at that, the blue box only really works at those psi levels with a standard setup of the smaller downpipe, cat, and dc sports, greddy etc etc exhaust, the **** box didn't compensate for any of the changes, which was my 2.5" downpipe in replacement of the 2" removed cat and added a 3" exhaust my fuel is way out of ****** whack at only 7 psi and that was before hand that I added my in tank fuel pump. Lets just say it needs to be fixed soon, so unfortuneately I have no $$$ for hondata and the tuning necessary thasnks to marriage , so I am going with the fmu/afc with my 310's. I should be ok I hope. Good luck and get rid of the box if you have high hopes and plans for the car. Peace,
Nick

Re: GREDDY Blue Box FCU Questions.... (boost killz)
i was running my gsr with the blue box at .7 bar for a few months, but after i went with a 3" downpipe and exhaust i think i went too lean and wound up melting down piston #4 just a bit. so be careful with the blue box...
