It might be. Cross reference the part # with the one from a 89 trans am turbo. That one I know is a 3 bar.

Hey Jason whats up --
The 3 Bar MAP sensor GM part number is 16040749, price $72.83. check that the color of the inside of the wiring connector area is orange, this verifies that it is the correct, 3 Bar MAP sensor... also check for the number 17406 stamped on the bottom of the body. I've found a lot of "3 BAR MAPs" that were packaged wrong and did not read correctly, even though they looked externally like they
should work.
Unfortunately, it looks externally IDENTICAL to the 2 BARs... orange, the keys on the plugs line up, etc. The only distinguishing characteristic I've been able to tentatively identify is the 17406 stamping. I've had several mismarked/mispackaged 3 BARs, end up being 2 BARs or worse yet, something entirely different.

I own 3 Grand Nationals and if that map sensor came from a stock GN then its a 2 bar map sensor for sure. Once you go DFI with the Buicks then you have to buy a 3 bar map sensor.

You know I took the GM map sensor off my cousins mustang which had Accell DFI. It had a sticker on it with some sort of part number I guess. Once I get to my car I will let you know!

ONly car ever that came stock with a GM 3 Bar Map sensor was a 1989 Turbo Trans Am that had a 3.8 ltr Turbo motor from the GN. No other cars at all! I've done extensive research. And don't buy one from Advance Auto even for the 89 it came out to be a 2 bar only GRRRRRR! I got one from SDS same part # as on the Hondata Webpage. See you at the track this summer Jason.
