Got a 2nd turbo today and have now reached a delima. (KKK K26 or saab t3)
Well as the topic says...I have had a KKK K26 for a couple of weeks now and have finally gotten everything i need to put it on. The thing is that my dad picked up a turbo off of a saab 900 today...and I was wandering which one do you think that i should put on my 93 Si hatchback (d16z6). It is bone stock right now and i will just be running 5-6 psi right now with a vortech FMU management. I also have three intercoolers and i will be running one. Which one of these turbos is bigger? And what are the A/R of these turbos?
Thanks guys. I know it is alot of questions but I really appreciate any help and will lead to my ultimate decision when i start installing my home-made kit. (hopefully start sometime this week).
And the saab turbo I am like 95% sure that it is a Garret TB0339.

I'm fairly certtain that the K26 is the larger of the 2. Have you physically compared them? I've heard of the K26 supporting over 400whp... I know the dinky saab T3 won't ever come close to that.

a friend of mine had a k26 on a jdm d15b vtec and it was an awesome turbo for the sohc. spooled nicely and wasnt too big or too small. dont remember when it spooled up completely but it didnt lag at all.

yeah i physically compared them and they looked about the same size. Just the compressor wheel on the saab one looked smaller than the one on the KKK K26. Yeah I am most likely just gonna stick with the KKK K26 though.
But bump anyways because I want some more opinions.LOL

there are 45 and 50 trim saab T3s too. Some have a .63 A/R exhaust which is nice with the smaller turbine wheel. I run a saab/volvo T3 on my d16Z6 - 50trim, .63 turbine housing and .42 compressor cover. I love it, great top end compared to T25s. Parts for T3s are much easier to find too. good luck!
