Good place to postion the wideband sensor in a setup?

WIDEBAND _ Techedge

Current Location in the upstream in a testpipe

Should i leave the wideband in the same place or move it up more so it is closer to the turbo....

They tell you where to place it on their website. Check it out.

before the cat (if you have one) and far from the turbo. About where the stock on goes on an OBD1 car is fine (ie about a foot or two before the cat)

Fwiw, supras have them mounted within a foot of the turbo usually.

I normally install a bung ~6 inches from the turbine housing. Just make sure it's on the top side (stay above 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock) of the downpipe as condesation can take out your wideband over time.

I've more often heard the 18-24" distance. OEM applications with wideband O2's usualy mount them atleast that far downstream.

But i dont have a bong that is that far down and im running a lovefab downpipe and the o2 bongs located close to the turbine housing abot 8" away so is that a good place to mount it?? and how hot is it until a WB goes out..

Pic was taken a while ago and since then I've switched the stock o2 to the top bung and the wideband to the other bung(the one bung didn't have enough clearance in the hole so the wideband wouldn't work it in). FJO has a measurement for their wideband, but I can't remember. I think it was at least 12" downstream of the turbo and for all motor so many inches from the valves.

As far as the narrowband output. You need to buy the RJ45 Splitter/Adapter from tech edge which brings out the linear wideband (WBlin) and simulated narrawband signals (NBSsim) and makes available an extra RJ45 connector.

for a wideband(not narrowband) ive always done 6-12" away from the turbine and so has everyone else i know
