Good pix of ceramic coatins
this was done at HPC in chandler, AZ....it only took about a week and was under 200bux....they have great customer service....and the work you can see for urself is great.....enjoy the pix

All of my work was done locally by a friend of mine... He thermal coated the manifold, dump tube, and turbine housing, as well as fabricated and coated my downpipe, and intercooler piping (IC piping was done in a thermal black wrinkle coating)... Only thing not shown in this pic is my downpipe...

here was my manifold after being coated
but these ceramics are armor coat... and they usually have a melting point of about 1350 deg
the black coatings have a temp of 1900 deg for melting...
after a few mths they are going to look like these

No. The ceramic silver holds up fine. The one thing about that particular process of the silver ceramic is that they all look shiny due to a polishing process. It's a matter of chemistry. NO POLISH will hold up to temperatures over 1600 degrees. Anyone that claims that is either not familiar with the process or outright lying. It doesn't mean that it won't "hold up". It simply means that the polish is only on the surface, but the manifold holds up just great. That is something to be expected.

if you see the pic above, his ceramic silver clearly shows chipping...
so it looks as if the polished ceramic stuff won't hold up

no, whoever coated his manifold did not prep it properly.. pre coating prep and cleaning is vital to a ceramic coatings longevity, slack on the prep work and the coating is gonna chip and flake. im taking pics of my stuff right now

In that particular case igo4bmx, you're right. that was not prepped properly.

I used the silver ceramic coating on my stuff (similar to jet-hot, but with a 2000 degree rating), and over a year later it still has a shine to it...
This picture was taken a few months ago when my last motor blew, and you can still see the shine on the manifold... At this point the car had been DAILY DRIVEN for about a year...
I have also found that using Wenol polish about once a month, will help keep it looking good...

D-Tuned, that comp housing is soooooo seksy!! Why not do it on the turbine housing as well?? If I can, that is what I will do. V-nice.
