Good idle with 1600cc injectors?
How hard is it to tune a car to get a good idle with 1600cc injectors?
My tuner cant get the car to get a steady idle. My idle jumps from 980-1100 rpms which is very annoying since i have very stiff HASPORT motor mounts and i can feel every rpm as it jumps up.
I bought an FJO Injector driver to help with this idle problem (Searched through h-t). But it was giving me problems once it was installed. Hondata confirmed that an injector driver will not work with my engine management (Hondata K-Pro) and they recommended using a resistor box.
If it matters.. heres my fuel setup:
Golden Eagle Fuel Rail
RC 1600CC Fuel Injectors
Resistor box from an old honda/acura car
Aeromotive a1000 fuel pump
Areomotive Fuel pressure Regulator
Two Aeromotive Fuel filters
10-AN main feed/-6AN return line

help me please!
If my car was tuned on a wideband and is running in open loop... would the "Idle Target Lambda" setting matter at all? its currently at 14.59:1 right now?
Not sure if that matters because i remember my tuner saying the Lambda AFR wont be working since its running open loop. Or it doesnt work when trying to datalog in open loop mode?

it is VERY possible to get the car to idle correctly on 1600's...I know of a civic running dual 1600cc injectors per cylinder on alcohol, and it idles like stock...it's one of the EFI 101 guys car...

Well, i filled up on a tank of gas and my idle problem went away.
Now im not sure if my a1000 fuel pump needed a certain amount of gas in the tank (had a 1/4 or less before filup) to run properly or if i just had bad gas.
Before the fill up.. my idle was set at 1300 rpms to see if it would stay steady. The idle would jump up and down 300-500 rpms no matter how high or low th eidle i set up. After the fill up, the car would run better and idle would stay steady. Lowered it down to 1000 and its still steady.
