Because I hear alot of good things about it and if this is how it sounds..... ???
It sounds like straight pipe with no muffler combined with a bad exhaust leak.

Funny you say that. I just bought a complete 98-01 front end conversion and the headlights I picked up for $40 are in BAD shape. I've done the driver's side already and it looks brand new from Honda now.

ive tried just about all the kits out there and the 3m one is the only one that gives crystal clear results, the meguiars kit was absolute JUNK, all it did was make them hazy and the wool pad fell apart as it was spinning and i had all yellow **** in my hair and on my shirt lol

2000 grit sandpaper (wet sand the headlight lightly), meguires ultimate compound, and mothers plastic polish. That is what I use and it turns them completely new looking. Can take pics if you guys want. BTW thanks for the thread hyjacking! LOL

I owned a Thermal 3" on my 98 GS-R for several years and I would say, No, the majority of that video does NOT sound like the Thermal 3". There is only one part that does. About :30-:45 into the video. The latter part on the street sounds like an open exhaust.

I have ran Thermal 3" since I boosted the R. I am supposed to get the caR running this sunday. I'll take my HD Go Pro over with me and try and get a few minutes of the exhaust sound for you if you can wait another week.

This was my 3" setup. 2 bottle resonators and a vibrant muffler, no cat, internal wastegate. Was almost perfect, I wanted a tad quieter but it was very quiet cruising from the outside.

I have one of those "as is" on mine. From same seller and all. Price was right and I am satisfied with the look and sound. It also makes a good starting point for modifying like LT did.
I plan to install another short Dynomax "bullet" where the stock cat would be and call it a day.

I used a Dynomax "bullet" on my 95 Formula (Y-pipe exhaust setup) and it cut down on all the rasp I had. I liked it a lot when the cutout was open lol.
One thing want to mention about the exhaust linked. It is designed to work with a stock cat. The flange on the inlet is necked down to a 2.5" 3-bolt flange.
You may want to take the opportunity and order a couple 3" V-band flanges that will connect your downpipe to the rest of this exhaust. Just hack off the supplied 2.5" triangle flange. Very elegant and easy-to-work on solution.

As along as the exhaust is tucked nicely. I dont like how low the Vband on my 4" exhaust sits.
